While Grandma Pam has been out here hanging with Patrick and taking care of Patrick's parents (thanks again, Pam!), Granpda Paul has been hard at work in Harrisburg with GenConnect, as well as taking care of Toonces and the house (no small undertaking). It was so great that he was able to come for a quick weekend visit to not only meet Patrick but also see Pam, who has already been out in California for almost three weeks!
Grandpa Paul got into town on Friday night, and we spent Saturday hanging around the house letting Grandpa Paul snuggle with Patrick. We went out for a short walk in San Carlos, but both Mommy and Grandma decided they needed a nap so we came back to the house after not too long.
Sunday was the main event as we celebrated Father's Day! Patrick wanted to make sure the day was extra special for his dad since it was his first Father's Day, so he woke up Daddy in a very special outfit and gave him some gifts that he had picked out with a little help from Mommy - a picnic basket, a picnic blanket, and a special tent that is SPF 50 for Patrick to sit in during a picnic should he need a break from the sun. As a redhead, Daddy appreciates sitting in the shade, so even though that sun tent wasn't technically for him, he liked the gift nonetheless!
Uncle Tido came over around 10:30 AM and joined the crew for brunch. Grandpa Paul cooked up some polichinkas for breakfast. Polichinkas are one of his specialties and very similar to crepes... and everyone loved them! Patrick also had a special Father's Day surprise for Grandpa Paul. He had managed to score two tickets for that evening to a sold-out performance of Dianne Reeves, a Grammy award winning jazz artist, who was in town for the SF Jazz Festival.
We had some time to kill between brunch and the jazz performance, so we spent the afternoon hanging around the house catching up on the all of the World Cup and US Open action. We decided to have a quick photoshoot before Uncle Tido dropped the grandparents off in the city for dinner before the jazz performance. Here are a bunch of photos from our photoshoot - it was too hard to pick just a few favorites! Enjoy!
